In April 2008, Elisabeth Fritzl reported to police that she had been held captive for 24 years by her father Josef Fritzl. Josef built a chamber and concealed it in the basement of the family home. One day he held an ether-soaked towel to his daughter's face until she was rendered unconscious. He then confined her to this area where he raped and physically assaulted her repeatedly over the course of those 24 years. Elisabeth gave birth to seven children, who were often forced to bear witness to the subsequent sexual abuse, and she had one miscarriage during her incestuous time in the "dungeon".
After she was finally uncovered, Elisabeth recounted to authorities her first days in the dungeon. She screamed for help. Blood dripped down her arms as she tore her fingernails clawing away at the 5'6" ceiling and banging on the walls for help that never came.
If God is All-Knowing, He was certainly aware that she was down there every single day of those 24 years. Why didn't He act? If God is All-Powerful, why was He unable to intervene? If God is All-Good, why didn't He show His love to her or her children by stopping the abuse? To Elisabeth and any reasonable person, God displayed none of those traits.
