~~ The Importance of Baptism ~
Depending on the Christian denomination, baptism can be a very important ritual. While some denominations dismiss the practice as having no sacramental (saving) power, others believe baptism is a literal supernatural transformation. For many, baptism is an essential step to becoming "saved". As an ordained minister, baptism is one of my expected duties. Oddly enough, a religious authority is not required to perform the baptism. In fact, no witnesses are even required. Anyone can baptize anyone else. There are no formal requirements to perform something so religiously significant.
